"I dont think of candidates as very valuable from a monetization standpoint. Your site is more valuable if you have a lot of them. But if I had to guess I'd say around $1-2 dollars. I run small local job boards."

$ value of registered candidate

I am thinking about the $ value of a registered candidate to a job board - active candidate or not.

I appreciate different industry job boards may value candidates differently. And also big job board value candidates differently to small job board.

But i'm just looking for your general thoughts - how much is a registered candidate worth to your site?

$5 / candidate?

$20 / candidate?

?? $$ ??

Are you big or small job board? are you niche…

David - we met briefly while I was working at Adcorp in Sydney. We pitched an idea to you and John. I now help run the Financial Times' job-board (Exec-Appointments) back here in the UK. How are you doing?

thanks so much for the kind words :) we have been beta for a few weeks ironing out some back end code, but the feedback since it went live has been great. I see you are in Sydney? I lived there for a few months back in College. Still one of my favorite places. What is JobServe all about? :)

David,

I launched www.wirelessmobile-jobsboard.com three years ago. We've made stready progress, though nothing like the success of Jobserve, though not much comes close.

Do you have any tips you can share, especially in getting recruitment agencies to part with their cash!

Hi David,

thank you for getting back to me so quickly. Point taken about the job search - I agree the home page needs improving from this perspective and hopefully we can make these and some other changes in 2009.
The prices quoted there are non-contract rates. Our prices fall away fairly quickly for 3,6, & 12 mth contracts, though again, you have a point, as it may well put companies off who see this pricing.
I would be most grateful for some tips on pricing - if you would rather email these, please contact me on graham@wirelessmobile-jobsboard.com.
Thanks again and I hope all is well in Sydney. I changed planes there are few years ago, when I went down to Christchurch for 10 days of interviewing, but typically had no time to get out and see the city - it looks great from the air. Maybe next time!

Best,
Graham
