Thanks Chris for creating this Job Boarders networking site! I really hope we can all share experiences and best practices with the group. Many of us operate in niche markets and face challenges with winning over business from not only the major job boards but Job Engines like Indeed and Simply Hired. We've found networking relationships within the community we serve to be the most benefitial. Uniting the grass roots businesses, both online an traditional, to create partnerships has resulted in success with attracting traffic, job seeker signups and employer leads.
Shiloh I run a few different sites, but I have two that are related to your niche: HealthCareerWeb.com and another site called Jobalot.com (aggregator with a section for healthcare). I have over 140,000 jobs on both sites. I noticed you roughly have 6000. I have supplied backfill jobs. This may boost your overall job count as well as provide additional SEO content to your site.
I own defensetalent.com, a niche board that serves the defense industry. We're putting together some metrics to help us set goals about # of views per posting and # of applications per posting and I'm trying to gather data about what other niche boards expect in these areas. If you are willing to share your metrics in these areas, I'll provide you with a copy of the survey data that I collect from my research. No specific boards will be mentioned in the report. Only categories and averages will be reported, so your data will be kept confidential. We are looking for "no spin" realistic numbers, not the marketing hype that it is tempting to provide our clients.
